Mother Love Before

Mother Love is a renowned television and radio talk show host, film and TV veteran and noted author committed to changing lives through healthy living. Having grown up with a love of food and an insatiable appetite, her weight shot up to 250 pounds on her 5’6” frame. With rapidly declining health, her life changed dramatically in 1990, when she was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and had to make the difficult choices in order to live and be healthy. Faced with the reality that she may not make it to her next birthday, she lost over 100 pounds and stopped the cycle of early death in her own family, where several members met their demise far too young. She’s been on a mission ever since to inform, enlighten and empower people to make their PHD - Personal Health Decisions and to encourage a healthy lifestyle while also enjoying life.

Forgive or Forget

Traveling across the nation, Mother Love has presented her Diabetes Awareness Bus & Truck Tour at health fairs, expos, universities, hospitals, and other large venues on behalf of Novo Nordisk, and was a spokesperson for Glucerna Nutritional Products. She’s represented AETNA Insurance Company in spreading her message to hundreds of thousands. As a long-time volunteer spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association (ADA), she is encouraging people affected by diabetes to visibly demonstrate their passion for fighting this disease. "It’s all about inspiring people to live healthier lives and make smarter choices when it comes to preventing and managing diabetes," saysMother Love. She is serving up sound, practical advice with big portions of humor and is available for speaking engagements on family and women’s issues, healthy lifestyle changes, managing diabetes, and cooking demonstrations to create nutritional, delicious and satisfying meals.  Keeping it raw and real, she’s sure to inspire, challenge and motivate people of all ages. As an accomplished author, Mother Love has written three books including:  "Half the Mother Twice The Love" published by Atria Books in 2006; "Forgive or Forget: Never Underestimate the Power of Forgiveness" (Harper Collins 1999) and "Listen Up Girlfriends" which is a humorous advice-based book (St. Martin’s Press 1995). 


On September 12, 2016 Mother Love is moving to 6 AM -8 AM (PST) on MovieTicketRadio.com. She can also be heard on her nationally syndicated talk show "Forgive or Forget" which airs on cable channels across the country on Bounce TV:BounceTV.com. Mother Love has received numerous awards and recognition throughout her career for her excellence in community service, philanthropy and leadership including: The 2012 Distinguished Citizens Award from the Black Employees Association; The Community Service Award by The Smith Family of Pasadena/Altadena; ADA’s Spirit Award in 2011; The 2010 USC Annenberg School of Journalism and Communications award and the 2009 Living History Makers Award from Turning Point, Inc. Women in Business also honored her with The Most Inspirational Woman of 2010 and she has been the ADA’s Volunteer of the Year multiple times. She is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Inc.
